Floor
Scales & Platform Scales
Due
to popular demand, below is our list of floor scales with recommendations!
We've done something that no one else on the internet has done.
We tell you the TRUTH about what makes this system or that system
better or worse. So scroll down and be sure to view all our scales
and make an informed decision. If you need legal for trade, be sure
to choose a system that is NTEP approved. If you are only going
to be using the scale periodically or not putting much weight on
the scale, you can probably get by with one of the economy models.
However, as we always tell our customers, there IS a reason or reasons
why certain scales cost less than others.

|
| The
highly recommended category of floor scale systems are our top
choices for many reasons. The most important factors are reliability
and durability. We have had outstanding success for many, many
years with these scales. For heavy duty applications, choose
the Roughdeck or the Gator Deck. These floor scales are built
solid and are tough not only on the top but on the underside
(see pictures above). As you can see from the picture above,
for heavy duty weighing, the economy systems or "internet
specials" are NO MATCH for the Roughdeck or Gator Deck,
so beware when you see these "too good to be true"
prices on the internet. Also, for a solid system used mainly
for warehouse pallet weighing, the Summit will work out beautiful
for you. All of these are NTEP Legal for Trade and built very
well. Digital Indicators for these systems are normally stainless
steel enclosures with plastic available with the Summit. |

| These
are what we call our "good systems" -- they give you
a nice "bang for your buck". The Salter Brecknell
DCSB Pegasus along with the Digi Summit 5x5 are nice choices
for economical floor scale purchases. Once again, we encourage
you to view the bottom side of the floor scales above. Notice
the Summit and the Pegasus DCSB are built well and provide a
nice solid structure at an economical price. The digital indicators
that come with these scales are the standard ABS plastic enclosure
AC powered indicators with the exception of the Cardinal Ruggedweigh
system, which includes a battery powered / AC powered 204 indicator.
Once again these systems are NTEP approved. The Doran MVP is
more of a bench scale system, but we included it because we
like the toughness of it and it does come in a 24"x24"
size. |

ECONOMY
FLOOR SCALES
|
|
At the
bottom of our list are the "econo models". Several
different manufactures offer these types of "economy
scales". Now there are certainly some businesses or individuals
who could use one of these scales. However, as you can see
from the two categories above, this level of scale is simply
not as durable as the highly recommended and good scales that
we offer. In general, the underside on this type of scale
doesn't have nearly the bracing, the cables are not protected
in channels, the loadcells aren't NTEP approved, and in some
cases the scales are not NTEP legal for trade. Based on our
experiences we HIGHLY recommend that you spend a little more
money and get one of the floor scale systems that we recommend.
It might cost you a little more money now, but we feel confident
that you will be much happier in the long run.
